These are the monitors I'm looking at now, would the G-Sync Monitors be worth it and benefit me? Or should I save money and get one of the non gsync monitors. I play games like Rainbow, Pubg, Fortnite and Cod Bo4 with and R7 2700x and a Gtx 1080.
G-Sync: https://www.amazon.com/PG248Q-G-SYNC-Esports-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01M4II4M4?th=1
G-Sync: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB241H-bmipr-1920x1080/dp/B01C05C1OK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1541512537&sr=8-4&keywords=aoc+gsync

Also can someone explain the differences between these?

Also, I would prefer 1440p but I dont think the 1080 and 2700x could handle it at a constant 140 ish frames on medium-high settings. I play competitively and prefer smooth settings over visuals

Makes sense. In that case I would get a 1080 display (Freesync or G-Sync) 144Hz with an overclock ability to 160Hz. Because you want the fastest monitor refresh rate possible to reduce input lag AND keep your frames within the Hz rating that the monitor can do so that Freesync and G-Sync continues to function without it turning off and on.

Well since freesync doesnt work with nvidia cards, it looks like I have two viable options (tell me if Im wrong)
1. I can get a 1ms 144+hz 1080p Gsync monitor
2. I can get a basic 1ms 144hz 1080p monitor without freesync or gsync for a much lower cost
There isnt really a middle ground is there? Out of the monitors listed/ones you know of, which would you choose

You can still use FreeSync monitors if you have an NVIDIA card, you just won't be able to use the FreeSync feature. It will just be like a normal monitor.

The whole "don't get a FreeSync monitor if you have NVIDIA" doesn't really make sense. It's not as if G-Sync products are an equivalent choice, they're usually much more expensive. The real consideration is, if you think it's worth spending the extra for G-Sync, then go ahead, otherwise get a non-G-Sync monitor (whether that's a FreeSync or no-sync monitor doesn't matter, they're both the same for NVIDIA cards and are generally equivalent in price).

The XG2401 or XG2402 is probably the best choice for a non-G-Sync 1080p 144 Hz monitor around $250.

I guess I just assumed freesync monitors are atleast a bit more expensive for a feature that wouldnt benefit me. What makes those viewsonics a better choice than the latter three I linked? Acer or Asus are higher quality I thought. I dont know anything about monitors other than refresh rates and resolution, so maybe you could explain the differences?

The VG248QE is especially bad. It's one of the first 144 Hz monitors ever made, released back in 2013 I think. It's absolutely ancient, there are plenty of other options which are superior in every way for cheaper. The only reason it has thousands of 5-star reviews is because most people are buying it as their first 144 Hz monitor, so they don't know what options there are, they just see that the VG248QE is the top search result and is popular, so they buy it, and add their own 5-star review to the pile.

I've written about the actual differences before, don't really want to do it again; see here:

One of my monitors is an Acer XF240H. When I bought the thing, right away, I noticed it was very bright even turning it down. But gradually, it got better as I used it. Wonder if monitors have a break-in period. It's still a little on bright side.

I read your posts and the XG2402 does seem to be the best monitor on a budget for what I'm looking for. What are your opinions on the PG248Q or XB241H bmipr? From what I can tell theyre similar but the Asus is newer. Do you have another Gsync monitor in the price range you would recommend instead?

Between these 3 which has the least real world input lag/response time? And which will have the best display for gaming? Spotting enemies in the dark and such, as well as capable settings for watching videos or movies?
