Hello all,

I have purchased a dock and a few other peripherals so that my MacBook Pro can also function as my home desktop for design work. The last thing I have to buy is a monitor; I'm looking for a 23-24" flat panel between $150 and $200. I already have a gaming PC and I am NOT concerned about response time; color accuracy and consistency are far more important. So far I have been looking at the LG IPS234V, which seems to be great value, and the Asus VS239H-P, which looks like it offers a few more features - albeit at a higher price. What would you guys recommend?

for $200 its probably an e-ips panel which really isnt much better in terms of color accuracy but you may want to look into this.

panels in terms of bit depth (colors able to be displayed)

tn (6bit)
va(6bit)
e-ips (6bit)
s-ips(8bit)
p-ips(8bit)
h-ips(10bit)

a good balance between expense and accuracy is either p-ips or s-ips but you will want to buy from a major brand as a crappy chinese panel is not going to give the same performance.
