I was perusing the Internet searching for unextravagant x99 builds and found.... Nothing. The computers themselves never dipped below $1500, much less the monitor. I wanted an x99 build primarily because the 2011-3 socket has a lot more life left than the 1150, and other things besides. So I set out to spec a computer and monitor with the x99 chipset for $1500. Here is what I came up with:
PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LKhzLk

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($299.99 @ Micro Center)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler ($74.90 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock X99 Extreme3 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($164.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($48.95 @ Amazon)
Storage: Kingston Savage 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($102.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card ($329.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Fractal Design Define S ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Monitor: LG 29UM67 60Hz 29.0" Monitor ($349.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $1505.78

This build ended up being optimized for silent performance. There's also the potential for custom water cooling down the road. Also, the price includes a freesync ips monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio. I also don't have to deal with rebates. I'm pretty proud of this.

My challenge to you, the community, is for each of you to come up with the best $1500* x99 rig possible. Aim for high upgradability, overclocking potential, and bang for buck performance in general. Bonus points for Freesync or Gsync.

GO!!!!

*because prices fluctuate, up to $1525 is fine.

Update:
I didn't post this because I wanted my build to be questioned, but for each of you to think of your own because the unique thinking of each individual is special. This is also not about me personally or what I'm building. The intention is to create a thread with several types of computer based on x99 within budget. A resource for the curious of the future. Please do not get butthurt about z97 vs x99. We all have already seen the data. No need to rehash it for the thousandth time.

So, so not the point. The lga1150 socket is dead. There will be no more CPUs for it. Also significantly less upgradability due to ram support and pcie lanes. Please, please stick with x99. I've been through this line of thought already. Besides, my intended usage will actually benefit from hexacore processing.

I do value your input though. And I understand your point. Thanks for the response, even if it's not what I was looking for

Also, this was meant as a discussion, not a question btw

The reason I specifically chose the r9 390 was because that monitor supports freesync. Actually, with freesync it'll do 75hz. And a 980 is overkill for it. Especially at 60hz.

Well this is the best I can do with your stipulations. I'd take the 4790k build over it all day every day dead socket or not.
