Hello,
until now i was quite certain that ill get me the Samsung PX2370 for christmas. now i gathered more information on monitors and im not sure it is the absolutely best choice.
is the PX2370 one of the best choices in its price class? are there others?
(i want 16:9; and < 325 $; im gaming and watching videos)

oh lol.. sry for asking this question for the third (?) time this month.
i read some threads: it seems dell U2311H is a very good choice.
now the problem is that i cant find it! all i get is the Dell U2312HM!
question:
would you recommend the Dell U2312HM in the same way as the older version U2311H?

i found my answer:
accordning to threads here and tftcentral.co.uk this is a very good choice: Dell U2312HM
my big problem with this model was the high minimum luminosity, because i am used to sit infort of my 0 brigthness and 0 contrast monitor. maybe the Dell U2312HM would make my eyes and head hurt? even i put brigthness and contrast to 0?

my !clever ^.^! solution: in addition to using the menus of the screen i will also use nVidia drivers to lower brigthness, contrast and gamma. i just tried i can go much lower than what my screen can do alone.

after i leave toms hardware now until i need a new PC i want to say:
- if u want u can close this thread
- if you, admin, think it would help some people to know this thing i just wrote about (use nVidia drivers to get very very low luminosity levels) then you could do a thread?

Difficult to say because comfort varies from person to person.

The Dell U2412M costs more, but it can drop down to a luminance 46cd/m2 .

ty, but i want 16:9
and now that i know the thing with nVidia drivers to reduce luminance that problem is solved anyway
