Im putting to geather my first computer and i discovered that the cdrw that i was thinking of going with only has 2mb buffer. this was a problem for me so i am wanting to know what else is out there im looking for a 16x or 12x write and at least a 10x rewrite with alot of buffer memery for around $200 this will not but used as my main read drive so am not really concerned with that although if anyone has anything against the toshiba 16x dvd/cdrom plz let me know

plz note about the cdrw i am not intrested in the Yamaha2100e cause of its noise and shaking

I have nothing against Toshiba; they haven’t done anything bad to me, because I am using Plextor, so feel free as you wish… hehe

Post, we'll do the "search"...

Where do you live? Costco has 121032 drives for 140 bux now, will that do it?

By the way:
"the cdrw that i was thinking of going with only has 2mb buffer"
"if anyone has anything against the toshiba 16x dvd/cdrom plz let me know"
"wah????? that didnt make sence to me" - so what are you looking for - cdrw or 16x dvd/cdrom?

It's difficult to understand your message, but from what I can make out... pay a little more for a Plextor - you won't regret it.

I agree. Plextor does a good job. There's some extra benefits, which basically amount to more control over the format.

You'll do ok with just about anything, but Plextor is the one to go with if you burn quite a few cd's (of all formats) and have a bit-o-expericence.

I think plextor makes the best CDRW. I have an 8X Plextor cdrw and never have problem with it. You can get an OEM Plextor 16x10x40 CDRW at newegg.com for 196.00 with free shipping.

Wow, that's a pretty good deal.
