Hey guys, I'm looking for a really good 21" monitor without having to go the "professional" route and spend $1500-$2000. I currently have a 21" Trinitron Dell P1110 (I think is the model number, the one before the black P1130s). I now notice the picture has a green tint, and it doesn't produce pure blacks. I don't know if this is because of the age of the monitor (around 5-6 years old) or if Trinitrons are known to have that problem. I don't know if it was like this earlier on when I had it because I wasn't very "color aware" and its hard to notice sometimes unless you compare it to other monitors beside it. I turn the brightness all the way down and it still doesn't produce pure blacks. I tried a color return as well. I found a Trinitron 21" Dell P1130 for $300 "overstock" that I am thinking about getting (never used, still packaged, but like 3-4 years old), but if this problem is known to be related to trinitron's I'd rather get something else. I'm also wondering if there is something out there better. I havn't seen any 21" CRT reviews in a while. I'd like a decent dot pitch and ACCURATE color. And no, I do NOT want an LCD. :)

You can probably turn down the intensity on the monitor you have already. I've done that before. It's one of the two screws on the flyback transformer, in the left rear corner (right when you face the back) after you open the cover.
