Best 250 graphics card

Hey guys I have planned to upgrade my graphics card, and can't figure out which would be best for due to so many choices. I am running an Fx 8120 on a 990 ud3 board with a 880 watt power supply. I really cant justify spending more than 250 on a card. I am impartial to amd or nvidia. My board is also sli and crossfire ready. Thoughts? I am looking to buy before the end of September.

You could have a 660ti or a 7950 but if they are worth the extra cash i really don't know, lots of discussions going on here on which one is the best and which one has best bang for buck ratio. To be honest i lost track myself . . .

I would probably go for the 660ti but i'm a dreadful nvidia lover. ( it's also green :lol: )

The 660 Ti not only tops the 7870 but also the 7950. But check the games you wanna play before deciding as they trade wins across the board

The GTX 660 Ti is the new wonder board with reason, if you can manage the $300 price tag. It is very good and overclocks to the level of GTX 670/ HD 7950

These are an assortment at various prives.
The 570 beats the 560 Ti, the 7870 betters the 560 Ti, the 660 Ti can push 580 game levels.

The question is what games and what resolution you are gaming at. And intend to.
1050 or less is relatively undemanding, 1080p with eye candy needs more, 1440 and up gets serious.

The toms monthly article on gaming cards might help, though they are a month behind the newest releases usually.

really looking at a 7950 now. I just dont know about the 200W (250W max) power requirement. I already have a FX 8120 running on a 990fx board with a 80 power supply with no clue how much power that is pulling..... would the 7950 require a bigger PSU?

whats your current psu.

edit: checked op again, you should be fine, unless its a really bad 880w psu.

I doubt it with 880W. To be sure you could look at the amperes of the combined +12V rails.
