Best 3TB HDD

US link. I base it being the "best" based on the customer feedback score compared to similar drives.

Other:
I recently scanned my drive after almost two years (using Seagate's diagnostic software and the "DST" test). It showed there were problems. I ran "LST" which attempts to rebuild the bad sector table and correct any issues. It failed.

*I then did the following:
1) Copied data to another hard drive

2) Wiped the drive (Write zeros; Seagate DOS program I think. Can use ultimatebootcd or other)

3) Full format NTFS (Windows; builds sectors and the "full" version builds a bad sector table)

4) Ran "LST" to verify (Seatools)

5) Ran "DST" to verify

I don't know whether "Write zeros" (low level format) or formatting solved the problem as I did both.

Upate:

*I've noticed an ALARMING issue and that is many products have significantly different customer feedback scores when compared between online stores and that pcpartpicker may only pick one of them. For example:

One site shows 4.5/5 and the other 3/5 average.

The WD appears to have a 5-year warranty and the Seagate only two years. On the other hand the Seagate is about $100 and the WD Black about $160 or $170.

I hope that doesn't confuse the issue but I wanted to give you more info.
