I thought I would check with the experts to see which 3TB drives are favorites and why.
Purpose:
I am planning to build a new Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit system with a 80GB SSD for a system/boot drive and an internal 3TB for storage to server music and movies to my Boxee Box over my LAN.
OS Compatibility:
I read that W7 32bit can read a 3TB Storage drive, but not as a boot drive. So I should be fine with OS compatibility...
Motherboard compatibility:
Still need to select a new MB to compliment the Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge. If I am buying a new MB - I am covered with EUFI and GPT compatibility right? These are both new concepts to me...
Interface compatibility:
Of course, a HDD can't saturate Sata 6.0Gb/s so I am okay with either as long as the motherboard I select supports the drive...
