Best 4 x 8GB Memory for ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

Hi, I plant to revamp my desktop (after Christmas) with a new motherboard, cpu and memory. I plan on getting an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3. I looked at the 8GB memory QVL and it lists only two types of memory, both of which are MIA at NewEgg.

I assume there are quite a few 8GB memory sticks that will run with this MOBO. Anyone have any firsthand experience to share?

Ideally you're looking for RAM with 1600mhz, 1.5V, and CAS Latency 9, but I couldn't find any 8GB sticks on newegg with those stats. The closest I could find was CL10/1600mhz or CL9/1333mhz, which would both perform just fine. If I had to pick a kit I would go with any of the following four:

I only linked to 4x8GB sticks because if you want less than 32GB you should probably go with smaller than 8GB sticks. Newegg also sells a few 2x8GB kits, too.

I've got to say, I cannot think of a single application for 32GB. I have 16GB in my machine and the only software I have that uses over 8GB that I use is software that I've written myself. I would say that unless you have a specific application in mind that is going to use over 16GB, don't bother with 32GB. 4x8GB kits are extremely expensive and it's just not worth it right now unless you absolutely need it. If you're looking to get a 2x8GB kit to leave yourself room for future upgrades, then don't bother with that. 4x4GB kits are considerably cheaper and it will be a long time before you need to upgrade.
