Best $400-450 build W/O Graphics Card

Hello enthusiasts of toms hardware.

Can anyone recommend a good pc for general use (web browsing and such) That can also game reasonably well when i can afford a graphics card.

price must be within the $400 to $450 AUD range. without an OS because i will likely install ubuntu until i can afford windows.

Ok, take a look at this, its right on the edge of your budget, but it is what you asked for - basic pc but can be upgraded with graphics to play games. It also has 2 spare ram slots for future ram upgrades

Thanks, the amd option appears much more compelling to me, though wouldnt a pentium g3258 be better in the intel build, especially if it was paired with say a 212 evo

Yes the pentium would be a good option, you lose hyperthreading though. I wouldnt waste money on an aftermarket cooler for these parts. If you did go for the pentium instead you could get it down to 400AUS
