Hi, I'm looking for a 4K monitor that is at least 27" and preferably sold in New Zealand, but I can look at shipping. I will be using this monitor for 3d modeling and animating mainly, but also casual use such as movies, web browsing and the occasional game.

My price limit would be about $1000 but I can consider options a little over this. Preferably an IPS panel and bonus points if it's adjustable so I can at least change the angle.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

I'd start with this one:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/benq-monitor-bl3201ph

THIS one is even cheaper with a good 3-year warranty (if available to you):
http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Gaming_Accessories/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=bsd&cs=cabsdt1&sku=210-ADOF

The Dell response time is slightly high at 9ms so will cause a bit of ghosting and it's 27" (Benq was 32" which I suggest). Not too bad, but more than the above Benq should (and probably part of the price difference).

I wouldn't get the Dell, but I thought I should mention it.

Make sure your GPU output supports 4K at 60Hz.

I have a GTX 770, which is confirmed as supporting 4K here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/4k/supported-gpus

The BenQ you have suggested is a little bit too expensive here in NZ at $1700, (https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/32-BenQ-4K-100-sRGB-Adjustable-Monitor/23017769)

There is another similar monitor, however, it is only 2K and uses a VA panel (https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/32-BenQ-100-sRGB-Adjustable-Monitor/23017767), I'm just wondering how much quality I would be sacrificing if I were to get this compared to something like the dell 4k you also suggested.

There seems to be talk about re-scaling with 27" 4k monitors and I think I'd prefer something I don't have to fiddle around with so much.

Thanks.
