Looking for advice on this one my current choice is a OCZ modXstream 500w any alternatives Not corsair and has to be in the price range from Amazon UK
Thanks :)

I would shy away from an OCZ. If you haven't heard they filed for bankruptcy and are going out of business. A real shame as they have been around a looonnng time. Any warranty they offer may not be worth the paper it is printed on, and if they have the same problems other big companies have had when they fail then Quality control could be really poor on products built since their announcement.

Yeah I was looking at evga and I really like their products and service but apparently the 500b doesn't have Japanese capacitors so is lower quality or some thing if you have any ideas please shed some light also this PSU is only really meant to last for a year then I upgrade to the 650g by evga which I love but is too expensive

Well, a good psu will last longer then a year, and the evga has the power to run a 650,, BUT
ko888 found a much better power supply through partpicker: That XFX is what i would go with (I apparently missed it when I searched Amazon). The XFX is made by Seasonic, excellent quality. Probably last through your next upgrade.
