Best 7.1 PCI Sound Dard

I am in a need of a sound card and I currently only have a PCI slot available. What would be the best PCI interface sound card that supports 7.1 surround sound?

This is the best 7.1 sound card on the market but a bit expensive i use a xonar dxg and that is a lot cheaper and gives good 7.1 there is also the xonar dx2 which is quite good.

Creative soundblaster isnt so great because they provide no support and minimal patches.
