Hey!
Picking up a 970 today after work. Curious as to which is the best for what i need.

Going with either:
http://www.ncix.com/detail/gigabyte-gtx-970-g1-1329mhz-1a-102011-1281.htm
or
http://www.ncix.com/detail/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-970-oc-6d-102012-1281.htm
or
http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-geforce-gtx-970-strix-0b-102345-1281.htm

I can't get my hands on a msi 970 until next month as they are on back order everywhere (im in canada)... so that's out of the question.

Wondering if the Giga G1 is worth the extra money or to go with the reference Giga?

Currently running a 7870 which is loud as hell and the temps are crazy high. Suggestions?

Thx :)

It's not really a reference i only used that for lack of a better term. If you click the link its just their more standard card (still with windforce coolers). Just not as high of clock rate or 3 fans like the G1

I would go with the g1 gaming. The non gaming version uses a different heatsink with two less heat pipes and the fins on the cooler are less dense. Also the power limit is lowered when you try to overclock (max 110% vs. 122%).

yeah its really good, it has 3 fans, it may be loud im not too sure, but my gpu hardly ever hits more than around 65 degrees on 60% fan speed and mine idles at 20-25 degrees, the g1 probably does even better.

My 2 cents - I am happy with ASUS Strix GTX970. I've found it easy to over clock and its incredibly quiet and temps have never been an issue thus far, either way you win if you do go with the G1 gaming GPU.
