So I'm getting ready to replace two Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Cards that I've had SLI'ed for about the past year. I'm considering going with a single 980ti at this moment and eventually upgrading my PSU (currently a 3+ years old 850watt) and adding a second 980ti. Eventually I will also be adding two or more Asus 144hz 1080p monitors to the mix. I plan on playing many AAA titles like ARMA 3, Battlefield, Battlefront, Fallout 4, CS:GO etc. Graphically intensive games basically.

So the question I have for you guys at the moment is this: What is the best 980ti on the market at this time and why is it the best?

I'm not going to be doing any overclocking, I just want the best for raw power and reliability out of the box. I've heard good things about EVGA and the Gigabyte cards, but I wanted to gauge the community and see what you guys have worked with and what you can recommend me based on my usage. Price isn't a big concern for me.

Why wont you overcloc? I would ussually recomend the EVGA 980 ti hybrid, but since you wont be oc-ing i dont know if its worth 70$ more, although the water cooling will definetly help with temparatures in sli, so it might no be worth getting it over something like the evga superclocked or the msi 6g
P.S one 980 ti has about the same the same as a 970sli so you wont see a gain in preformance with just one.

I'm not super comfortable with overclocking but I suppose I could dabble in it if the card has good support for it.

Overclocking is much easier on the gpu than on the cpu. You just download a program like evgas precision x and some free benchmark tool (like heaven benchmark) run them both and just increase the gpu clock speed bit by bit in the program until it becomes unstable, then you do the same with memory clock speed. Its preatty easy

Oh if it's that simple then yeah I'll go into it. I've read the evga hybrid is great for ocing. Any merit to that?
