Hi, I was looking for routers and found out that ac1200 routers were the most suitable for my budget and the performance required. I need the WiFi router with highest speed and range USB ports, etc. come after. The three models I was considering are:-
Tp-link archer c5
Asus rt-ac1200hp
D-link dir 850l
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance

ac1200 is a optimum perfomance point mostly because many end devices only have 2 antenna and can not take advantage of the 3 or 4 stream technology.

Key in a router choice is mostly software. I tend to like routers that will allow you to load third party firmware like dd-wrt but that is purely a personal preference. The routers themselves will likely perform very similar. In many cases they contain exactly the same radio and cpu since almost all the large router manufactures buy their chips from the 2 or so chip makers.
"... I need the WiFi router with highest speed and range .." So maybe AC1750 would be better than AC1200. After researching I bought the TPLINK archer c7 (not c5). Happy with it so far, but its only been a few weeks.

Biggest difference in wireless range for me was a few years ago when I got a USB 10 ft extension cord and hung my desktops wireless usb dongle at teh top of the window curtains. That got the signal over (rather than thru) all of the kitchen appliances.
