I ordered a 13900k for a new build and going to use the Fractal Torrent Compact case, so I would think an air cooler would be the best choice for that case.

Does anyone have an idea of what the best air cooler may be for the CPU?

I was looking at the NH-D15 Noctua, black version and i am wondering if there is anything that tops that one?

I prefer performance over aesthetic, but if there are any white in color heatsinks that could be recommended as well, that would be awesome.

thank you everyone.

A very nice case for air cooling.
The two supplied 180mm front intakes will supply all the airflow you might ever want for cooling the cpu, mobo and 4090.

Two things to check.
The NH-D15 will limit the height of ram heat spreaders to 32mm if the front fan is to be used.
Since you have room to slide the fan up a bit, Corsair vengeance at 34mm would be fine.

Some motherboards will position the first pcie x16 slot a bit close to the cpu socket.
You can check your motherboard clearance here:

As an alternative, the NH-D15s fixes both issues.
It is designed for one fan so ram clearance <66mm is not an issue.
And the heat pipes are offset a bit to clear graphics cards with large backplates.

The cooling potential is virtually the same.

There are other big air coolers that will perform similarly, but none that I know of will be significantly better. Many will have the ram clearance issues.
You will find the noctua to be of highest quality and is very easy to mount.
