I'm looking for the best air cooler (not AIO/liquid because I'm scared I'll mess up and waste a hundred or so dollars) for the Ryzen 9 5950X that will fit inside the Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case. Also, my motherboard is the B450M K (rev. 1.0) from Gigabyte.

You should reconsider buying the Ryzen 9 processor listed above and placing it on a motherboard like that...I wouldn't do that if I were you, not on a board devoid of RVM cooling. Unless you're looing for an excuse to buy another motherboard.

OK, what motherboard would you recommend? I'm only getting the Ryzen 9 5950X because I'm getting a 4060, so I want a minimal amount of bottlenecking. I also already use a Ryzen 5 5600G, so please let me know if that's enough for a 4060.

Probably Deepcool's AG620, but if you're using ram taller than G. Skill's Trident Z(44mm), it likely isn't going to fit.

5950X is best served by a 6+ heat pipe tower, preferably twin tower cooler, with at least 120mm fan. Your case can take up to 160mm cooler height.

Can't really go wrong with these:
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120

Just gaming, or creation/productivity as well? 5950X is kinda wasted on the former, but reasonable for the latter. 5800X3D is superior for 100% gaming.

I agree that this motherboard will likely hold back a 5950X (it's both old and bottom tier). It'll work, but I've had basic UD Gigabytes randomly die. Its VRMs are weak. And if you're going to get a new motherboard you might as well consider a 7-series Ryzen. Otherwise a mid-range B550 board like a MSI MAG, Asus TUF would be fine.

Mainly just for gaming, but some light editing (DaVinci Resolve 18.6) for my small YouTube channel.
