Best alternative for Amd phenom II x6 1055t

Hello guys i want to buy new processor for my pc i am mostly gonna change the whole pc please suggest good choices
Amd Or Intel
i was thinking Amd fx 8320 and msi 970 gaming
or is there any alternative in Intel with better performance

Can you overclock? I had a phenom ii x6 1055t and got it to 3.9ghz stable. At that clock speed it was the same performance as a fx 8350.

If you cannot overclock, I would make sure to get a 8350 and not the 8320. The 8320 is a great cpu if you can overclock it, but stock it has pretty lousy single core performance.

You also need to make sure your motherboard supports AM3+ cpus. The phenom will fit into bothe AM3 and AM3+, but FX will only work in AM3+

Dont get an MSI motherboard for AMD. My friends have had seriously problems with them. I would get the gigabyte ga97-ud3p. It is a fantastic board for the price and can overclock like a monster.

My friend told me to combine Fx6300 with the above motherboard and get gtx 960 graphic card

Your phenom is about as good as a fx 6300, and that motherboard isnt good. I would do a fx 8320 with a ud3p motherboard. The gtx 960 is alright but I think u can get a better gpu for the same price.
