I had the 970 and took it back and got that board. I couldn't get a stable OC on the Asus 970 because of the lower number of VRM's I would hit maybe 4.1 and then freeze. Switched to the 99FX board with it's better and more VRM's and can hit 4.6 np.

Do you already have this? Depending what you are x firing you might want to consider a fx 8320

My xfire uses about 80% cpu usage in bf4 but i really dont look at it very often.

Either way dont cheap out get a 990fx board.

I already bought all my parts but the mobo. My gpu is a Radeon 7870.

Neither of those mobos have my ram on their compatibility lists, would the ram still work though?

Ya you'll be fine with the RAM. There are probably thousands of different RAM modules, no MB company can list them all on their site, nor keep up with new ones coming out everyday.

Whatever you do choose even if its not on the compatability list it will work fine

i got a msi 990fxa gd80 v2 and it works pretty good i believe its a little over 100$ though
