Best and Cheapest Graphics Card to Max BF3 at 1366x768?

So, I am building my first PC, but need some help with the graphics card. I currently have the XFX HD 7770 for $130, but I am wondering if I can buy something cheaper but still be able to max BF3 at 1366x768. I also would like it to be able to run Crysis 3 at decent settings. If at all possible, I would love to stay under $150.

You wouldn't be able to go cheaper then your card and get good settings with BF3. You are at the entry point for gaming with your card. You should check out the Crysis 3 Beta right now and give it a go and see how it runs on your computer. Now is the time if you aren't sure if you are going to buy the game or not to at least take a look at it.

I'm still choosing parts to buy. Haven't built it yet. Probably should include the link to my build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tQAG. But tried the Crysis 3 beta on my old Alienware M15x w/ GT 240M and got "need a DirectX 11 Card" error. Lol. But anyways, I see the recommended Crysis 3 card is the 5870 and the BF3 recommended is the 6950. Kinda confused how you need a newer card for BF3.

Well for around $150 that will still give you great performance would be the 7850 at $170 if you can do that that will be the best...

I made some modifications to your build. Firstly you are using a non overclock motherboard chip so I moved you to a i5 3470. Also if you aren't overclocking you really don't need a aftermarket cooler. Also, I changed the power supply to a stronger quality unit. You should also Subtract 20 dollars from that total because there is a promo going through the 4th of Feb on that unit on top of the rebate in the end the power supply amounts to $49.99 after its all said and done. I also changed your case to save a little more to give you room for a 7850 2 gigabyte card you can place a 1 gigabyte card in if you wanted.

I thought the 3570k was OC'able, no? Thanks for the help though.

The 3570k is overclockable but a motherboards chipset and the CPU go hand in hand you would want a Z77 board to overclock.

Well a 7770 would not be a good match for the i5 3570k. Don't know why you would spend so much on a cpu and then skimp on the graphics card when games are mostly graphics dependent. That is unless you plan on mainly using this build for something else.

at that resolution an a10-5800k trinity will play at max settings. that will run you $120, you get the CPU and GPU in one.

You will not get max settings in a game like BF3 off the APU you may get a mix of medium and high settings but you most certainly wouldn't get max.

at that resolution? you most certainly will get max settings. you get max settings at 720p with most games and an apu... and that's lower then that.

Yeah I would go with the 7850. Maybe drop the keyboard and go with one you have laying around the house so you can swing that 7850. I love it for 1600x900, so it could only be better in a lower resolution. If you need it right now there is an XFX 7850 for 159.99 after MIR (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150642&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=), but if you wanted to future proof or install a ton of mods you could go with a 2 GB version (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150642&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=).

Right I believe at your resolution that nothing above a 7850 is needed most definitely. Was just getting frustrated because you are trying to max BF3 not just play the game which you will be able to do with a 7850 and most definitely be better off with the 2 gigabyte card.

Yeah I know I don't really like it when people talk about maxing the game either but I want to do it because I absolutely HATE low quality. I'm gonna go with a 1GB 7850 and if I save enough money i'll upgrade to a 2GB before I buy it. Thank you guys for all your help!
