Best and perfect graphics card for motherboard - VGC-RC310G

My father has found a PC and its motherboard is the VGC-RC310G from Sony and since that the graphics card is outdated i would like to find a replacement for it...I live in Hong Kong so the currency is in HKD.My budget would be around 1k hkd.I would like to find a graphics card that can work smoothly and those not affect the other equipment inside it.

[strike]I'm not 100% sure, I guess the motherboard still has got a AGP Slot which makes upgrading to something "new" pretty much impossible.

You've got a x16 PCI Express Slot for the graphics card so upgrading to some better office cards (e.g. NVidia GT730, R7 250) would be the most meaningful way to go. Otherwise you could go with a budget gaming card like the RX460 (that doesn't need any external power)

nVidia GT 730 GDDR5 is all you need for that system, it has an old CPU which won't be able to keep up with anything better.

So the current graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 7600GT. CPU is a dual core pentium D at 3.2ghz.

I would recommend a GTX1050 or 1050ti for your budget. Keep in mind that even with the best graphics card, your CPU will be holding back your performance in games. Still, the 1050 should be a HUGE improvement from the 7600.

I am asking for help because my graphics card has probably overheated and is no longer working... I knew that this was the problem because I've searched in the internet for help and whenever I start my PC it starts to produce weird moving coloured images on my screen and even shuts down when I play games.

I am looking for graphics cards that can give me a great gaming experience and is not very costly...If their are stuff that need to be replaced in my system please inform me...

if you have a 200-250w power your better off saving some money and buying a newer pc.
cash for the power supply and gpu. with old mb look at the 7000 line of gpu. the newer gpu may not post do to the old bios.

I agree with Smorizio.
Purchasing a newer PC would definitely be the better option due to age of the motherboard causing a lot of issues.
Might be best to wait to the new year and purchase a PC already built in the January sales if budget is tight.

Its Graphics card is a Geforce 7600GT (256MB)
I am wondering if that Pc can work on todays games,If not then what kind of graphics card is suitable for that motherboard

That Sony desktop motherboard is very outdated.
