I'm looking for a new ASUS motherboard but what I want is the most efficent for my porpoises. I do some video editing some CAD and some electronic projects so no gaming or other like this. After choosing motherboard I'll choose the remaining hardware, CPU included. I don't put limits to the costs but I don't have the pocket of that famous Bill... so can someone suggest me something that stay grounded and not seems to be a fly of a sin?

PS I bag your pardon for my English because Im Italian and not so accustomed with

What is your budget in approximate us $?
The purpose of sli is to be able to combine the power of two graphics cards to increase the frame rate of a gaming monitor.
It seems to me that sli is not any sort of a requirement for you.

For video editing, many cores and faster cpu's are what is mostly needed.
The motherboard pick must follow the cpu choice, not the other way around.

For a budget build, the FX-8350 cpu would be reasonable.

For a high end build, a i5 4690K or a i7-4790K and a z97 based motherboard is good.

For a very high performing build, you are looking at a haswell-E 6 or 8 core cpu and a X99 based motherboard.
