What is the best (stable) version of the ATI drivers for a 3850? I know that 8.4 was just released, and that ODD versions aren't that good, but which is the most stable?

Thanks.

Just what makes these drivers so much better than ATI's own drivers? I am not fully versed on 3rd party drivers, so please cut me a bit of slack....
What do they do that ATI's don't?

Install Omega Drivers based on Catalyst 8.4 or 8.2 😉
I'm using 3rd party drivers from... Eeee... I don't remember xD

@mikilys: OK, I have yet to see these drivers based on 8.2 or 8.4.

Anyway, to all: Just what do the Omega drivers do that ATI's don't?

A few fps gain. Nothing too significant. Also, it doesn't try to roll back your overclocking or interfere with third part oc programs, which is convinent. 😛

Tell ya what... i'm not really versed on 3rd party drivers either... but anythings gotta be better than ATI's driver team. :pfff: took them like 6 months to fix their mess for AGP cards! :fou: i realize a lot of people have switched over to PCIe and can understand that a single driver version could have slipped through the cracks to mess things up but when you surpass some 5-7 driver versions without addressing as big of a problem as non-functioning AGP cards... lets just say i've lost what little respect i had for ATI... Don't get me wrong, they have awesome cards! allways have, but never strong drivers... Suppose the AMD merger probably didn't help matters any but still...
