I am looking for a headset for my gaming setup but I am looking for more of a open back or semi open back headphones audiophile headphones, for headphones I mainly look for slightly bassy headphones my old gaming headphones were razer kraken 7.1 v2 which were very bassy but I want something with way better audio but still a little bassy if possible. And for a microphone I plan on using a modmic attachment. My budget for the headphones are around $200 to $250, if there are good headphones under that that would be great, but im not oppose to spending $250

On a more serious note, it looks like you're American so there is always Massdrop as an option. They're currently selling the Sennheiser HD HD58x jubilee, at a nice price. I think that headphone is a mix of HD 580, 600 and 700. To get a good sounding headphone at a very low price. They also have a pair of custom AKG 701's. Both are probably fairly flat sounding (the Sennheiser seems to be using the more natural/flatter sounding drivers from their 700 series and AKG tends to do fairly flat by default). So they might not be for you but you can always Bing the internet for a review or two. Both of those drops ends today, I think.

I need a budget range or I don't even know where to start. Lots of options ranging in price. Here is something to look at anyway, the fostex T20RP's they are semi open so have pretty good sound stage and are known to be a really bassy open back. But if you are really into bass closed back might be better for you, they seal to your ear and tend to produce more bass than your average open back.

The T20RPs are somewhat hard to drive. Onboard mobo sound may not be enough. Do you have a sound card or external DAC/AMP?
