Hi guys, Im going to be upgrading my MOBO, CPU amd RAM as my old setup is quite old but i have a 1060, im doing the upgrade to run some more CPU intensive games such as Arma 3 and Playerunknowns battlegrounds. The current recommended upgrade i have been given is this:

CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£178.14 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI B250 PC MATE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£86.70 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (£59.99 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £324.83

Can anyone find any better parts for better performance and sticking around the £300 mark? Specifically if you know of any sales on good ram/processors. I don't know too much about pc's so please attempt to justify your reasons for picking parts in lamen-ish terms, Thank you very much.

Alternitively this could be a really good setup (i5-7500) in which case just say so, so i can start my upgrading :) Also if you have any tips on the actual manual upgrade such as big no-no;s please post those too as this will be my first ever build/upgrade apart from GPU, which was alot easier.

It depends on what you choose to do with your system is it only for gaming or some other tasks as well ..if u would elaborate about that would be very helpful to evaluate and help...all the best

matx being cheaper is a very subjective topic depends on features most likely and i would recommend against gigabytes mobos for ryzen their vrm are very bad.... 4+3 is not a good design get msi ones any msi one except the gaming pro...

but it still depends on what u would do with it... if gaming only go for intel if ull need for editing, video production, encoding etc etc along with gaming then.... ryzen

intel is 4-5% better at gaming but ryzen is about 30% better at editing and other stuff
