Hi to the forum, I have just been given the all clear to buy a new pc by her who knows best.

I use my machine for the odd game but mostly for multi tasking joomla, photoshop, I will also be having a go at setting up a rdp client.

I have decided on a 120gb ssd for the OP and a 2tb for storage.

My question is what would be my best option for motherboard, ram, cpu I have a budget of £240 max.

I have found these two bundles on ebay.....which one do you think is the better option.

I will upgrade to 16mb of ram later

If you know of something better please let me know

Solution
Don't go to cheap on a heatsink/fan. The minimum and great choice is the Cooler Master Evo.
b]CPU:[/b] AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor (£109.50 @ Amazon UK)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£23.90 @ Ebuyer)
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste (£11.27 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (£59.00 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£69.98 @ Novatech)
Total: £273.65
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Solution
I went with your suggestions but a couple of items were out of stock so i had to order elsewhere, total came to £280.40.

Many thanks for your advice.

PS by pushing me over budget you probably cost me no sex for a week......but a nice new computer should make up for it
😉

If you don't know already. There is a correlation between how good your PC is and how much sex you get. The more I spend on my machine the more frustrated my woman gets.

So, what components did you end up getting? I hope you stuck with that mobo and CPU.
