Im running an old i5-4670k with a z97-g45 gaming motherboard. The motherboard is acting weird so id like to replace both with crurent processor/mothetboard. Im not expecting to play all the latest games as i dont have 1500$ to put on a GPu Right now but will eventually invest into one when prices come down a bit.

I have a 650 watts power supply right now but i dont mind buying a new one if i need to. Also thinking that ill need to replace the ram as i have 24gb of old ripjaw 1600mhz ones.

Intel or AMD doesnt matter, as long as its the best deal for à budget gaming machine. If i can save by keeping that Power Supply, even better.

Every suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks gentlemen.

Make and model of your PSU and it's age? What's advertised on the unit will not be the same after being taxed for years. When asking for suggestions on a system upgrade, it's best to stylize your thread akin to this one. We can then move forward with suggestions. If you included your specs for your system as is now, we'd have a better idea of what does need upgrading, cost effectively.

You could also try and troubleshoot the MSI board you own and hopefully alleviate any need for spending. how do you have 24GB's of ram on that board?

It has an old gtx 770 GPU which i plan to replace once i get a better deal than what's out there right now. The computer goes back to 2014, so im guessing the power supply might need to be replaced? There's 4 ram slot, so i have 2 x 8GB and 2x 4GB rams in there, which is why i have 24GB.

Thanks a lot i really appreciate the input!
What would be a budget power supply you'd recommend for this build? I am asking because the 650W one i have is 8 years old... guessing it needs replaced?
