Ok. I was going to purchase a GTX1080 (today or tomorrow) but I had a deal fall in my lap, and would like to hear a few opinion so the matter.

I can get 2 (used) EVGA ACX SC+ 6GB 980ti cards with bridge for the same price ($625).

Which way to go?

Thanks for all of the input folks. I've decided to go with the SLI 980ti setup. This has been a really interesting build. Everything was sourced via Craigslist and Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Would have never guessed I'd end up going SLI...will be my first time.

I will be upgrading down the road (probably when we see a price dip on the new Titan, or when we get whatever succeeds the ti) I will be doing 4k gaming, but not until 4k/60fps is handled effectively by one card (hopefully for less than $1300 (with tax)

Technology is very far away from getting 4k/60fps from just one card. I would say that the next 'Titan'-tier card to come (not the Pascal, but the generation after that, would be able to do it, but that's more than a year from now, and it will be years from there until it's price becomes reasonable (<gtx 1080 range)
