Best BTX motherboard

You need a BTX board only if you need to fit it into a crappy OEM case.
Don't do that.

I know but I found a Gateway from about 10 years ago that costed about 2000$ and my dad was the original owner and there was a huge scratch near the socket and you can see the copper and does not boot sadly and I like trying to get the most performance out of these old systems.

Yes, I know there was a lot of and's but I am tired.

Haven't seen a BTX board in years. The standard is ATX, most all component are made to fit that standard, which would basically mean they'll be upside down for a BTX, which can create issues. For instance, the shrouds on a standard ATX gpu double slot card are quite large, and in an ATX are pointed down, away from the cpu cooler. Turn the card upside down and the shroud now sticks face first to the cpu cooler, and won't fit.

Make your life immensely easier, stick to ATX.

A 10 year old semi broken Gateway is worth exactly $0.
It might have been $2000 10 years ago, but it is $0 now.

I'm the same way, but be careful how much money you spend on an outdated system. Especially one that is 10 years old. I found 3 more decent quality motherboards.
MSI MS-7248R
Lenovo ThinkCentre M6100s
Beware, as this one is LGA1155: Lenovo ThinkCentre M6100s LGA1155

10 years ago would be lga775, or 771, or maybe even a socket 479, no telling without some serious digging. If it's 771, you'd be in luck, you can hijack a Xeon 771 and convert it to use in lga775 mobo's, just bring a beefier cooler. If it's socket 479, old pentium, you are out of luck entirely, you won't find a reliable board for that, nobody would take the time to re-cap one.
