ive recently bought a am3 mobo, its a asus m4a88td-v evo and was wondering what cpu to get for it, itll be for gaming but also has to be as cheap as possible.

Sorry. Just checked and the answer is no.
The AM3+ socket specification contains 942-pins, while the AM3 socket contains 941-pin.
You can put AM3 CPU on AM3+ board but not the other way around.
FYI, AM3 board is going to be outdated soon.

Sorry. Just checked and the answer is no.

so which of the ones ive seen would you sugguest, its for a first time budget gaming build, overcocking could also be a factor in it too
