And if i somehow muster enough money for an i5 6500 id just slap an extra 80 on that total
 


Yeah. Even if you don't the money, an i3-6100 shouldn't bottleneck either a GTX 480 or RX 480, but it won't last you as long as an i5-6500. If you do manage to get the money, it'd be worth getting an i5.
