So looking at a new build, last build was 2nd gen i7 2600k and it's done me well. Hence why I want a 10th gen i7 10700k.

I am trying to decide on motherboards and unsure if I really need to spend £150+ or if I can get away with a £100-140 motherboard? I will be using following spec and looking to overclock the cpu in the future

10th Gen i7 10700k (socket 1200)
32GB DDR4 RAM 3600Mhz
2TB M2 NVMe (think I need to ensure it has PCIe 3.0 4x for this? )

Advice appreciated as unsure if I need to spend the extra or what to look for in a good board for overclocking?

What do you use your computer for ?
If it's for gaming, go with the i5-10600K; if for other multithreaded software go with the i7-10700K

And 32 Gb at 3600 Mhz on an Intel platform is certainly pushing your luck; the benefit over 3200 MHz is marginal with a much better chance of reaching 3200 MHz with 32 Gb.

And all this allows you to put more money in the motherboard and PSU

Yeah i did consider the 15-10600k its just I like to future proof system for as long as possible. Had the i7-2600k since 2011 and only had to upgrade now. I get theres no difference now gaming but in a few years the cores may matter potentially.
