I m planning to buy quintet iii with synergy sub 10. Do they sound better than tv speakers? Should i buy them?

Yes, almost certainly, assuming you're driving them reasonably well.

What's the price point? Any other options? I'm assuming you're buying these used? Looks like an older model - not really an issue with speakers.

They sound much better than TV speakers.
But are best paired with a 80-100 watt per channel amp.
But get a good amp with a mic for EQ setting the room.

The horns run about 3dba high so can be too bright for long music listening periods.
But make them great for movie surround set ups where effects drown out the vocals.

Will Sony STR DH520 be sufficient for Quintet speakers?

planning to buy quintet iii
the Klipsch Quintet III should be a 5 speaker set.

adding a subwoofer would be 5.1 set.
Sony STR DH520
is designed for a 7.1 sound system.

so would also be fine for a 5.1 set.
Speakers are sold as pair. Can i buy pair of them? or full set?
what speakers?
pair would mean 2.

if someone is offering a Klipsch Quintet III which only includes 2 speakers then it is not the full set.
definitely not still worth the $100-150.

How exactly can 50 year old speakers possibly be better than newer ones? I know basically nothing about audio, so I'm curious.
The human auditory system has not changed in millions of years.

Engineering, case materials, construction.

Everything was not necessarily a race to the bottom of the price chart.

I also have a fairly recent set of 5 EnergyTake (now Klipsch) + 2x 10" Polk Audio subs.
Those also sound good.

But as with many things, newer is not always "better".

My parents washer/dryer would last 20-30 years.
Today, you're lucky to get 1/2 that.

mostly that these days most manufacturers use the cheapest materials possible.

where a box may have had heavy duty wood housing, now you mostly see cheap fiberboard.
same with construction of the speaker itself.

i see many newer subwoofers with paper thin lightweight construction.
but my 30+ year old 10" Pioneer set weigh ~20lbs a piece and sound quite a bit better(louder & clearer) than the newer ~5lb 10" Pioneer i bought just 5-6 years ago.
