I have been thinking I will build a gaming PC.
Talking to my brother, (who has a lot of experience after 8 custom builds and years of being a pc gamer), he suggested me this...
CPU: Phenom ii x6 1090t: 50$ (bros old cpu)
Mobo: AMD 970a G46: 95$
RAM: PNY XLR8 1x8gb: 65$
STORAGE: WD Blue 1tb: 55$
PSU: Evga 500w: 45$
Video Card: Dual-X R9 280: 190$
Case: Thermaltake commander G41 Free (brothers gift)
Monitor: 1080p 21.5 inch Free (found in house)

I think it is good, but if any changes can be made, include the first six parts under a limit of 500$
thanks

on the video card hold off the newer nvidia 960 are dropping at the end of the month.

I think you got it well
Yeah always try to get best gpu for money
Save money from other components and get best gpu you can achieve
Because that's what matters the most
That's the only advice u will need
And check psus 12v output before buying
You can get idea about psu with this link answers

Edit:forgot to mention
If you can try to buy quad core i5 with 6mb l3 cache memory
Even second gen 2500k won't bottleneck latest gpus
if you r running on budget that's good choice
Because always think about price 😛erformance gain ratio
Coz nowerdays gaming is better with 4 Cores

Really?? I will have to hold off on buying the parts then, to see how it does.
