Any leads on how to ensure successfully ordering one at launch or what time zone it goes live?
Yeah. I would just find the exact time where orders go live and put it on your calendar 😛.None so far, like the article mentioned, it's going to be every man for himself. As for time zones, I am not sure.

Nah, you're right! 🙁On eBay, at the start of COVID a guy was selling toilet paper for $25/roll and they SOLD. LOLLol, so these are going to sell out limited numbers super stupid fast and then instantly be listed on auction sites for double the price (and sell)......my prediction and I hope I am wrong.
I did not expect to say this in the past , but after my friend (and some people here) told me that 10GB in 4K is not enough for some games , I think i will wait for the rumored RTX 3070/3080 with 16GB/20GB ...
I was planing on buying the RTX 3080 from day one , but my friend told me he has RTX 2080 ti and it uses 10300MB Vram in 4K with ultra setting in COD warzone Game , he has RTX 2080 Ti .
Given that RTX 3070/3080 are faster than RTX 2080 ti , I think it was stupid from Nvidia not to make them at least 12GB VRAM ...
Guys, we have no idea if 10GB of vram or 8GB of vram will be good enough or not for 4k gaming.
Hardware Unboxed covered this in their latest QnA, there's a lot of games out there that will eat up extra vram resources not because it needs too, because it just puts extra "stuff" there in-case it needs it in the future.
This is common especially in Call of Duty Modern Warfare/Warzone, the game will eat up as much vram as you give it. That does not mean at all, that the game needs as much vram as it uses.
This is actually a misnomer of "uses" for the memory. Your friend's RTX-2080TI memory is allocated up to 10300MB when playing COD Warzone, but that doesn't mean it's being used. Gamers Nexus published their review of the RTX-3080 today and discussed that. In other words, you will be safe buying an RTX-3080 for 4k gaming, if that's what you're looking for.
