Best card to upgrade to from r9 270x?

I have an FX 8120, oc'd to 3.7. I am looking to get Batman Arkham Knight when it releases, and in case my current r9 270 x 2 GB card is not up to the task, I was wondering what a good upgrade would be, or if it would be worth it to run another one in crossfire (as this would be the cheapest upgrade option available to me). I was looking into a 4 GB GTX 960, but they are about roughly the same in performance, so I would hate to sidestep

im upgrading monitors soon, so just assume 1080p. And budget is no issue. Just something that would be a reasonable performance upgrade over the 270 X

I would wait until Nvidia Pascal next year if you can do that. 270X should still run Batman high settings.

im hoping it will. I wonder if crossfire with another 270X would be any good, as I could run down to my local bestbuy and get another one at any time. My main worry is that the 2 GB of the card wont be enough as they recommend 3 to 4 GB for recommended and ultra requirements

Im thinking of saving up for the nvidia GTX 970 sitting in bestbuy right now for 380 ish just becuase it is there. It has the reference cooler, which I think looks cool, but im not sure how well it cools.
