Few games (such as:Fallout4,Skyrim,Insurgency) require me to step it down to low seettings to manage a stable fps over 35 frames. So looking to upgrade to something better than the HD7700 but on a tight budget so need something that can handle games on ultra/high in 1080p with decent fps but under £100. Heard of few cards such as 7990,gtx670 etc but there just too many out there lol

!DON'T HAVE TO BE NEW! I'm perfectly fine with hunting down a good offer on ebay so hit me up with anything.

Specs:
Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-78LMT
GPU- XFX R7700 Ghost series
CPU- AMD 4300 Quad core
PSU- Aero Cool Integrator 600W 80+

780 is not far from 970.
For the processor, FX4300 might still be enough with some hickups like in crowded places.
Only your HD7700 can be a bit of an issue but I think you can still run FO4 with it with some settings toned down.

As for your upgrade plan, FX4300 is not actually considered as strong anymore. I would not upgrade this rig anymore but I would plan to do a big overhaul (proc, mobo, RAM, GPU, etc.).
But, if you wanna do temporary upgrade look for 780, 970, 1060 6gb or anything on that direction. Your FX4300 might be the bottleneck on some games tho'.
ultra 1080p on Fallout4? You need something at least GTX970, especially if you want to keep the GodRay effect.
You will need even far stronger cards for those fancy mods e.g. ENB, grass mods, texture mods, etc.
Moreover, I also not very sure if your proc can handle all those stuffs.

Well, 40-60fps on 1080p ultra would be the goal basically.
I don't use any mods so just a clean ver of the game.
I'm really considering saving up a little bit and grabbing a gtx780.
As to the CPU I have no idea tbh but I could try to OC, don't know if it would help cuz noobie about that stuff but if it will help then why not.
