[SOLVED] Best case fans for Antec P110 Luce

is it better to have 2x140mm or 3x120mm as intake fans?
i always use 140 vs 120mm due to them moving more air with less noise.

but in the situation of having a solid wall of 120mm
or 3/4 of that wall being 140mm with a large open gap.
i would go with 3x 120mm vs 2x 140mm.

or maybe even 2x 140 & 1x 120mm.
I've always thought that static pressure fans are needed
how much of a difference the level of static pressure would make would really need to be tested and determined with each case.

the three i mentioned;
be quiet! Silent Wings 3 High Speed PWM,
Noctua iPPC NF,
Cryorig QF Performance
have higher static pressure levels than most.

so using either of them would offer any benefit it may have.

the CPU cooler and it's placement, your disks and their placement, your GPU & other components
are all factors that help determine what type of fan setup you should aim for.
What are the best affordable fans for this case
that depends on what you mean by "affordable".
you can find cheap fans, but most don't offer the best airflow and are usually louder.

i always stick with be quiet! Silent Wings 3 or Noctua iPPC fans.
but there are many high quality types to choose from.
i've used Cryorig QF series in the past and they also worked great.
do I need static pressure fans for intake?
fans with high static pressure may help some but unless you are pushing\pulling through a radiator or thick filters it shouldn't be a necessity.
any decent fan should have fairly high air pressure anyway.

Thanks @JohnBonhamsGhost ! My specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900x
  • CPU cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
  • GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Windforce
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (2 x 32GB)
  • Hard disk: M.2 nvme on the motherboard + SSD on the back
fans with high static pressure may help some but unless you are pushing\pulling through a radiator or thick filters it shouldn't be a necessity.
My front panel is one big solid obstacle (you can see in the link in my first post), aren't static fans required in this case?

that depends on what you mean by "affordable".
I mean, I don't want Lian Li SL120 UNI or Super high-end Noctua. I want a good value-price ratio (esthetic is not a matter for me )

there are side vents in the front that allow cool air intake.
Are these side vents enough? (Note that there is also a dust filter inside)

I'm aware that fans have fairly high air pressure, I always thought that I need to maximize the pressure due to the small side vents and the dust filter...

I've always thought that static pressure fans are needed in such case with side vents and airflow fans are best for cases like the Corsair 4000D...

Good to know...
