If you like just handing out money for nothing, go for it.
I wouldn't say that any of the sites mentioned are legit. There have been instances where people who buy games from these sites have had them removed from their Steam, Origin, or uPlay accounts because they were found to be illegitimate.

Okey! Thank you very much for that. I read them.
So marketplaces aren't best places to buy. Have to buy from Steam.

You don't have to only buy from Steam. Just avoid places that let people sell their own keys like the websites listed. There are plenty of legitimate retailers that sell games and many of them are actually just selling keys you activate in Steam, Origin, or uPlay depending on the game.

I buy lots of games from Amazon and Humble Bundle. Surprisingly Gamestop also has really good sale prices for downloadable PC games sometimes. GOG.com is really good option for DRM free games too but since every game they sell has to be free of DRM they don't get many of the newest AAA releases.

Humble Bundle is a different story, those are actual retail keys sold for a charitable donation.
Generally, if it seems too good to be true it probably is. G2A, Kinguin, etc. Any of those sites should be avoided. Sure there are people that get legit keys, but there are also keys that are already used, region locked, or not legit.

Agreed. I was one of the people who told him not to use the sites he asked about. I was just pointing out some legitimate options besides Steam because the OP concluded that he could only buy from Steam after hearing our responses.

Steam has great prices during their sales but there are plenty of other legitimate retailers who run great deals too.

Just avoid reseller websites. Authorized retailers are fine.

That's just not true. Just because it hasn't happened to you yet doesn't mean it hasn't happened to plenty of other people.

It has nothing to do with people being under age. The games are removed from your Steam/uPlay/Origin accounts because those companies found out you used an illegitimate key. Try reading the articles USAFRet posted.

Even if you are able to get your money back from your credit card company you are still buying illegitimate copies of games. How else do you think these companies are selling games that aren't even out yet at a 50% discount?

People buying from these websites are not that far off from the people who pirate their games. They aren't supporting the people who make the games they want to play in either case. Instead of giving their money to the developers so they can continue to make games in the future they are giving it to shady people who found a way to cheat the system.

Also a side note, Paypal does not honor most digital purchases (Take for example CSGO skin trading) if you get ripped off they tell you tough luck.
Keys are relatively similar, if it gets revoked they tell you that you should have put more thought into your transaction.

Same goes for Visa. You purchased something that may or may not be legit, its not their job to help you out when you make stupid purchases. They are there to hold and transfer money on your behalf, not to have your back on grey area purchases.

Read this:
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/green-man-gaming-denies-it-sells-grey-market-game-/1100-6432325/

""It has now come to our attention that Green Man Gaming's library of unauthorized game sales has expanded, or this library has just now come to light. You may have noticed recently some 'too good to be true' deals on Green Man Gaming. We received a few modmails/emails on the subject so we investigated.""

"It continues: "Some customers received a ROW [non-region locked rest of the world] copy of Black Ops III. Others received ROW+Nuketown (pre-order DLC). And others received invalid keys. This is often the result of buying unauthorized keys. Stores will often obtain the keys through different sources to meet the number of sales, but can't assure the customers are getting the same product, or if it's even valid. (There was a large number of invalid keys for The Witcher 3 as well.)""

Green Man Gaming has made a change since that controversy. Now you can see the source of their keys for each game they sell. It will list the publisher's name if they got it directly from the publisher. If not it will list "authorized retailer" as the source.

So then why not go directly to the publisher or "authorized retailer"?

Many games are directly from the publisher. That was my point. In doing some quick looking it looks like 2K, Square Enix, Bethesda, Warner Brothers, and some other publishers provide their games directly to Green Man Gaming.

Ubisoft games and The Witcher 3 list authorized retailers as the source of their keys. I'm sure there are others too. Those were just the ones I found by quickly looking.

If you want to be safe with Green Man Gaming only buy games that list the publisher's name as the source. You'll also notice that only games that list the publisher as the source come with the pre-order bonuses in many cases. The upcoming Ubisoft games do not include the pre-order bonuses on Green Man because Ubisoft isn't directly the source of those keys.

Edit: Valve and Capcom also sell their games directly through Green Man. Green Man is an authorized retailer for all the publisher's I mentioned that sell their games directly on their website.

Cool! Thank you very much! *going to Green Man*

I've used:

Greenmangaming
Gamersgate
g2a
Humble Store (never actually bought a bundle before)

I've gotten a pretty good amount of stuff from g2a... I haven't had issues with Steam. Does anyone actually know of someone that got banned from Steam because of g2a or heard of it happening?

Why would you spend your money at a website you know is dodgy in the first place? END OF DISCUSSION.
