Reds are generally regarded as the best for gaming, but they are not the best for typing. MX Brown switches are a good balance between gaming and typing.

The only way to answer this is to try out mechanical keyboards at electronic stores like Microcenter or Best Buy.
But I can still help some. Red's and Black's are linear (no bump or click) and generally regarded as better for gaming. Blue's and Green's aren't linear and are clicky, too clicky for some but not others and are regarded as good for typing. Brown's aren't clicky but still keep the tactile bump when pressing on them and are a happy medium
