Question Best Cloud Backup Solution

My Backup is a mess. I have no confidence in it as I'm receiving error messages which lead me to identifying that for some reason my WD External 4TB Backup Drive keeps disconnecting so I currently do not have a backup.

Before replacing any drives, and until I have time to accurately troubleshoot, I am thinking of a cloud Backup for my 3TB's worth of storage.

Found this article:

Has anyone used IDrive? Seems like a decent deal.

"Best of all, iDrive currently has an amazing offer for Tom's Guide readers, who can get the 10TB plan for just $3.98 for the first year; that's a massive 95% off."

I would like incremental images of the three SSD's totaling 3 TB and I'd also like to start backing up my laptop, another 2-3 TB.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm using iDrive. It's fairly straight forward to use, plus it uses client-side encryption, so they don't even know what you're uploading. You have to use their app though, but I have a NAS with it integrated so it does all the backing up for me.

The nice thing about iDrive is they include the last 10 versions of the backup for free (https://www.idrive.com/idrive-backtrack)
Thank you for your comment.

The main problem with cloud is time.

How long would it take you to pull down 3TB from 'out there'?
As always, thanks for all you do.

I had not thought about the time factor. The only absolutely critical drive is a 1TB Samsung SSD so while that would be time consuming, the peace of mind having an off-site copy would give me would define it's worth to me.

I will still get my local backup once I figure out the issue or get new hardware. Might be time to bite bullet on a NAS solution.

One reason for the idea to use a cloud solution is to possibly add a second location with 3 laptops for a total of 5TB worth of storage that I will have trouble managing physically, but the data is not critical.

I know I am out of my element for now, and I am trying to come up with the proper plan and solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you also have a local, absolutely nothing wrong with a cloud solution.

My NAS has been an absolute killer.

When I sketch out my plan, I will add the total capacity of the current drives and add 2 as I will probably be upgrading some of the SSD's.

Does that sound reasonable, or am I overdoing it?
Nothing wrong at all.

And drive space is changeable.
My NAS started out in 2017 with 4x 3TB, 12TB.
Today, 12 drives, totaling around 90TB available space.
