Question Best Combo of Threadripper CPU/RAM/Motherboard for $650

I'm looking for advice on the best Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 Threadripper CPU, RAM combination. This doesn't necessarily have to include any other components, just those 3. I'd prefer 32gb ram, as fast as possible. There was a time I could have done this myself, but I've been out of the game for a while.

Well, what Threadripper are you looking at or I should ask how many cores do you want, 650 can get you a decent 2nd hand Threadripper. And you have to be careful, the x399 motherboards will only work with the 19XX and 2XXX Threadripper CPU's, TRX40 motherboards will only work with 3XXX Threadripper's, its not backwards compatible.

TRX40 motherboards are quite expensive new, and used right now.

I'd like at least 16 threads. But you're hitting right on the kind of thing that I need to know and don't! The faster the better in both single-core and total compute.

@Viking2121 that was very helpful, and I've done some reading around that. Does anyone have a good suggestion on what precise MB/CPU/MEM to buy given my price point?
