Hello tom'd hardware community, i am currwntly bottlenecking really hard, i have a gtx 960 2GB witb AMD A-10k-5800 or something like that and a old msi motherboard that supports ddr3 ram, i am looking to upgrade my cpu and motherboard with ram if needed, i would like a cpu that easily runs games, can stream and record 1080p 60fps max quality and renders videos up to 4k, most important games i play are Apex legends, battlefield v and other shooter games i would like a cpu and
if needed that could do everything i listed. Overkill would be around 500$ but im looking for a great deal around 350

Stock cooler can be used to save $20.

Only suggestion if you have more to spend is to buy the R7 3700x with more cores, but you would be better off to buy a more powerfull GPU with any remaining budget.

A ryzen 5 1600 would be blown out of the water by a 3600, but both are a HUGE improvement over your current CPU.

Here you go.

This is a good suggestion. I’d drop the cpu cooler since the 3600 comes with one and I’d go with DDR 3600.

Hey love this combo 1 thing why does it say this
Potential Issues / Incompatibilities
  • Warning! Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

I hope its not for this chipset right? because it says "some"

Best set for now i found online is AMD Ryzen 5 1600 + MSI B350 Gaming Plus.

That's actually a quite competent little combo. more than capable of saturating your current GPU (which is strained at 1080P in a lot of today's newest games, so would often require reduced/tailored settings)

As the R5-1600 is often on closeout at $79, it is an insanely good value, and a good B450 would allow an R5-3700 drop in later....

Ye i was thinking at the beginning r5 1600, but i mean im kinda lookin for performance more than money, if i wont be able to get r5-3600/3700 then i might aswell take 1600, it honestly just depends if i can get it or not
