Coincidentally the high-end brands you mention also have the lowest failure rate and that has a price. There is a cost too in returning fees and wasted time with less reliable products. It's up to everyone to choose which one are they willing to pay. Joz, i get that feeling with GSkill and Kingston...The other 3 you mentioned are some of the best and never had problems with them...

I have 128GB DDR4-3000 installed on my X99 with 5820K. And that is on 14-14-14-34 timing. Cost around $720. IMO this is way better than the recommended 64GB kit. THG should really keep the recommendation up to date. People who use data intensive applications will benefit a lot from fast 128GB kits.

The 16Gb 4 x 4Gb G.Skill Ripjaws 4 full article link just leads to the Mushkin Enhanced Redline review instead of it's own page. I couldn't find anything with Google, so is there a full article for the Ripjaws or was it deleted?

The F4-3200C14D-32GTZ is now @ $204.99. Might be time for an update. In case anyone missed it, that's CL14 for 10 bucks less.

Aren't prices just that little bit steep for what they are?

16GB DDR3 or DDR4 can be found for $70 or even less. 32GB for $150.

I'd pay as much as $100 for a good 16GB kit, but not $250 like these suggest.

The prices are already out of date. So are the specs. Memory and storage are the only two component categories that continue to go down in price while increasing in performance. Basically, you need to check prices on the day you intend to purchase.

I am confused on what memory is comparable with my Asus Rampage VI 10 Edition. Can anyone assist? I am putting the 10 core i7 in also. Thanks!

I am assuming you mean a Rampage V 10 Edition. If so, your motherboard supports memory timing up to 3333GHz. You haven't said how much memory you want (from 16 to 64 GBytes). Also, will you install a 4 dimm kit or are you intending to install an 8 dim kit?

The only thing is the reliability. If the module is 2400MHz or 3000MHz and whatever the CAS it has no real impact on system speed. It may look good in CPU-Z stats and some synthetic tests, but thats about all.
