I ordered the i7 7700k yesterday so I'm looking out for a cooler now.
I would be willing to spend around $120

Will I be able to overclock with it?

Given you have a 7700k, a good solid clock to aim for is 4.7-4.8GHz.
It'll be able to handle anything you throw at it.

I know that this question is totally unrelated but should I cancel the i7 7700k and buy the Ryzen 7 1700?

No, the 7700k is much better for gaming.
What's the budget for your entire rig though?
You might be able to get better performance for the money.

I would be using this rig for gaming and streaming.
My budget is around $1200, I already have a GTX 1060 GPU.

7700ks can run really hot so id recommend a big air cooler such as a cryrig r1 or noctua d15 or a quality 280mm aio such as h115i or kraken x62(or even a 360mm if you can fit it).

and even with excellent cooling dont expect a big overclock, a lot of the chips simply run very hot unless you delid.

i wouldnt unless you are going to place a large emphasis on things other than gaming such as rendering/editing. for gaming the 7700k is the better choice.

The R1 Ultimate is way overkill for any CPU except maybe a 6950X, get a H5.

They don't run that hot lol....
You can literally run a 7700 with a stock cooler and no problems, a 7700k is just an overclockable version of that, it's fine with a 212 Evo or M9i.
