Hi all,
I have a Z370 motherboard with an 8th gen i7 processor. However, I also currently have a 550LC 120mm liquid cpu cooler. I know this is not efficient for overclocking whatsoever, but will it cause my CPU to overheat running at standard 3.7 Ghz? I am new to the PC world and just curious. Also, what would be the best water cooler for this processor. I have a full-size tower, so I have some room to play with.

This is highly dependent on:
  1. What is your definition of "overheat"
  2. How high are you planning on overclocking? Are you sticking within stock voltage, or will you be pushing voltage up more than 0.1V?
  3. Good case airflow?
  4. What GPU? Does it have axial fans (dumps waste heat into case) or a centrifugal/blower fan (dumps waste heat outside the case)
