Hey.
Recently, I bought AMD Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 128-bit

And I'm still thinking which processor to buy which would be great and possibly the best combination with this GPU ?

I currently have Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, and this processor is trash... It simlpy sucks.
Thereby, with this, I have also 4GB of DDR2 RAM

I'm also thinking about to buy new mainboard which has DDR3 RAM slots.. Because DDR2 is out-dated already, and the performance is simply bad... Not same like DDR3, right?

However, I just need your opinion which CPU would be the best pair with this GPU?

Thanks.

What country are you in? HD5750 is pretty old - 7 years old already, in fact, and was not a very fast card when it was new.

I would say a fast Core2Duo or perhaps even a Core2Quad is a fair CPU to pair with the 5750. If you're looking to replace your whole platform, that GPU is appropriate for the lowest-end CPUs for sale right now. Something like a Skylake Pentium, perhaps?

EDIT: A bigger problem with the 5750 is that it is no longer properly supported with new drivers. You'll need to use AMD's "legacy" drivers, which do not contain the same tweaks and fixes for modern games.

5750 is probably still a bit faster than Intel's current-generation integrated graphics in terms of raw speed, but it certainly lacks a lot of useful features modern graphics solutions have.

I live in Serbia, unfortunately...
If I lived in some better country like USA, UK, Germany and so.. I wouldn't for sure have such bad PC

However, I couldn't get any better GPU for lower price.. I paid it 40€ and it's second-hand graphic card...

^ There are likely cases where the CPU is holding OP back, though the weak GPU certainly doesn't help.

Problem is, I don't know what's available in Serbia, or for what prices. OP, what motherboard do you have? We might be able recommend a drop-in upgrade for you.

My PC specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz dual-core
RAM: 4 GB of DDR2 (3.25GB Usable) ***I know why this appears.. it's because of my motheboard.. looks like my mobo is made specificly only for 32-bit processors and system.. It cannot support any more than 3.50GB of RAM.. I currently have 4GB of RAM installed, and my PC already recognizes it, but only 3.25 gigs are available... I already created thread on this forum about that issue.***
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5750 1GB
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-945PL-S3P (horrible motherboard.)
PSU: I only know it's 350W.. nothing else..

Looks like your board does not officially support Core2Quad, so there's not much you can do to upgrade without replacing it too.

What sorts of choices do you have available to you?

Also, regarding your RAM, that's because you're using a 32bit version of Windows. If you installed an X64 version, you'd have access to all 4GB. Or at least, that's what I'd expect.

He stated in his other thread, when he goes to an area with more objects/people/things, fps drops. That's an obvious heavier load on the gpu.

Since hardware availability is an issue, it's hard to suggest anything when it may not be available or cost differs greatly. There's hierarchy charts which may help. As you can see, it's going to be best if you get a new mobo for a decent step up to at least an i3. That's quite a major upgrade with cpu, ram, mobo, and windows 64 bit so you can actually use 4+ gb ram. You still may not see any fps increase if your gpu is the issue. Just check gpu usage and if that gets near 100% with the fps drops then you know the gpu is the issue.

*Ahem*...

Well.. Me neither..

My neighbour who is Computer Servicer told me the following: " So.. your mainboard is terrible.. I mean, it's like made only for 32-bit processors and systems.. It factory-made cannot support over 3.50GB as it says on GIGABYTE's offical site on the internet.. I advice you to buy some good ASUS motherboard which may support this processor and DDR3 RAM slots.. It will be cool then.. I hope so.. "

And, here is the motherboard's official site info: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2541#sp

Also.. here's what it says about this crap of motherboard: http://imgur.com/cgzlgKt

What now ?
