If the OP was worried about the 212 Evo covering the RAM slots, the NH-D15 will make them faint. Not that its a bad cooler, I love mine. But its a fricken beast.
First, while I have a place in my heart for the 212 Evo, there are better on the market that are shorter and dont cover the RAM slots. However, if the Evo is your thing, you can just adjust the fan up a few mm to adjust for the RAM. Without knowing which RAM you're using I cant say for sure how much clearance you need, but it should work ok with adjustment. You have up to 180mm in that case for CPU cooling so you'd be fine with the Evo.
However, like I said, there's better out there. Without knowing which Exteme6 you're going with I can give exact recommendations but these will fit in your case. For air cooling, look at the Cryorig series. The M9i is pretty much a direct replacement for the Evo, only no RAM slot overhang and a better looking mounting system. The H7 is a step up, same kind of mounting system as the Evo but a better cooler and again no RAM overhang. The H5 Universal is bigger still (getting closer to the NH-D15 size), but still no RAM overhang. H5 Ultimate is where you finally hit some RAM overhang but its adjustable for ram over 30-35mm in height. R1 series is where you start getting in to direct competitors for the NH-D15, and you'd need to check their compatibility chart for your motherboard. The Extreme series of boards tends to have very large VRM heatsinks so the really big air coolers may cause mounting problems. I've worked with the H7 and H5 series and love the heatsinks. I prefer the mounting system of the H5 over the H7 (and Evo) but they're all solid designs.
For water, the Corsair H110 is supposed to be solid, I've only played with the H80i and H100i. The Cooler Master Nepton tends to score well on the charts but I don't have any experience with them. I also like the Kraken X61. The Kraken doesn't always outshine Corsair or Cooler Masters Nepton series but install of the Kraken is so much easier than the Corsairs I've played with and its very quiet. The tubing is longer and more flexible. But that's just preference. The software on the Kraken is also less prone to problems than the Corsair i series, if you want something with some light up color to it. You can fit a 280mm (2x140mm) or 3x120mm up top, which will likely be your best option. Front mounting does exist but it always looked like a major hassle.
